One has to wonder how many Chinese don't want to buy Japanese cars in China for patriotic reasons, and how many simply do not want their vehicles to be smashed by their fellow countrymen? Hong Lei, Spokesman for China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, speaks today (9/6) on Japanese cars in China

Q: Recent reports have shown that the tense state of Sino-Japanese relations has impacted the sales of Japanese cars in the China market. What is China's evaluation of this matter?

A: Because of widely known reasons, Sino-Japanese relations have recently encountered serious obstacles. In order to change the present state of things, Japan must immediately cease its wrong behavior of harming China's territorial sovereignty.
